I'm working on setting something up that may mean no more xangar for me. That would be hot. I'll post the URL fun here if it works.

Okay, all Josh bloggins and such will happen here until further notice: http://deltalima.distrotalk.net/serendipity/. The further notice part will probably not happen until I bother to register my domain and get my own hosting.

http://engtech.wordpress.com/2006/11/24/the-great-firewall-of-canada/

Wow. Those milk bagging bastards.

Michael Geist has this to say: “There is likely wide agreement that Canada must begin to grapple with the Internet challenge of balancing free speech rights with rules that outlaw certain forms of speech that have been judged harmful to our multicultural society."

Let's play "What's Wrong with this Picture?" to find out just what's going on! Just what is a form of speech that has been "judged harmful to our multicultural society?" Well, apparently any speech to incite violence or advocate genocide is illegal. What a great way of stopping genocide and other violence! I'm sure that anyone hoping to commit genocide is going to be very concerned about whether or not it's legal for him/her to be talking about it. And any incite to violence is illegal? That conveniently makes even planning any sort of revolution against the government illegal, just one more step toward an enormous Orwellian state. What's that? Why would any good human being want to revolt against their government? Hmm...

But it doesn't stop there. Another supposedly free country is actually legally requiring all ISPs "to implement a 'Cleanfeed'-style network level content blocking platform." Yes, internet denizens in the UK are soon all going to be receiving a watered-down version of the intarweb. Why? For their own protection, of course! They can't be exposed to images of child abuse, because that could cause them to beat their own children. And a website glorifying that wonderfully ambiguous idea that is terrorism? It would just be in the best interest of those poor, simple-minded British to be protected from even being able to read such websites. And who better to determine this than mommy government?

What a great world in which we live!

Another interesting story.

Forgot to mention this video earlier. This is why I hate police. A lot.

I pretty much went to see The Decemberists in Columbus last night. It was amazing. A lot. That is all.
